"Advocating, Protecting, and Representing the Interests of Veterans"

Join the Post 12002 "PAC" Network

Every month, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate receive hundreds of letters and e-mails from well-funded organizations. It takes a concerted effort and a large number of letters, phone calls, e-mail messages, and telegrams to demonstrate to elected representatives that there is major concern by veterans and their families about pending legislation. That's what Post 12002's legislative program is all about, getting lawmakers to act in the best interest of veterans.

As Post Legislative Affairs Director, I am responsible for our legislative program. Members and their families who join this effort will be able to directly contact their elected representatives on the issues of the day.

The Director's Legislative Team will augment and use the VFW legislative issues web site to carry out the Post's legislative mission. This Post PAC Network will help the VFW cause through a coordinated, dedicated, vigorous grassroots campaign. By joining this effort members can, supply members of congress and the President with solid, factual information on veterans' issues.

This Post will remind members of Congress and their legislative staff that veterans remain a strong, vital political force in this country. VFW Post 12002 through this network, will be able to bring to bear the collective clout of our members on issues that are of importance to veterans.

The Post Legislative Director and his Committee will help VFW activists keep their elected representatives on notice that veterans' issues are important to their constituents. VFW members, their families, and others who join the team will receive a package of information that will enable them to become a vital part of Post 12002's legislative initiative in the 2008 elections.

It is through the dedication and perseverance of all VFW Members that the issues affecting veterans are resolved. Your commitment to serve veterans and their families continues the tradition to repay the tremendous debt owed to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our nation's freedom and each citizen's personal liberties.

By becoming a valued participant in Post 12002's legislative program, you demonstrate your dedication and commitment to improving the lives of our nation's war veterans and their families. By your active participation in this important effort, you will become an integral part of the VFW's grassroots legislative team."
